beef stir fry recipe

The inspiration for this beef stir fry recipe came from a couple of packets of Changs Noodles that were getting close to their use by date. I usually only use these noodles to make chocolate spiders.

I used the recipe on the Trident Chilli Sauce bottle as a base and made this beef stir fry in less than 15 minutes. The kids loved it, especially the crunchy noodles. While I wouldn’t have the noodles with every stir fry we have, it did make a fun change for our evening meal.

2. Heat oil in large frying pan (I don’t own a wok, but you would obviously use the wok if you had one!), add meat and brown.

3. Add spring onions to the pan and cook for a minute or two constantly stirring. Then add crushed garlic and cook for another minute or so.

5. Add soy sauce, chilli sauce and water to the pan. Stir for a minute.

6. Place a bed of noodles onto a plate and add the stir fry. My kids love giving chop sticks a go at the moment – it sometimes only lasts for a minute with the youngest ones, but they are all getting better at using them.

OMG I love stir fries. That look yum. I’ve only tried crispy noodles in those prepacked salads. I will give them a go with stir fry. Thanks for the inspiration!

Looks good, but sourcing crispy gluten free noodles might be a problem for us. I’ll look into it though as this is a really simple-looking, fun recipe!

Not a great deal of meals for a family of 2 adults and eight kids can be done in 15 minutes. Buying two giant already cooked chooks , pre-paked pasta and salads and dressings would have to be the quickest meal in my house.I shred the chickens(puppy loves the chicken skin). mix it with the salads and pastas in a massive bowl and serve.Sometimes there are even left-overs for the next days lunch saving time for me. I must agree stir-fries are the best i just cook everything in two woks.

I’m pleased I’m not the only one without a Wok! I just didn’t think I’d use it enough, and rightly, a frying pan does mostly suit what I’d do in a wok (although I do wonder if a high sided wok would lessen the oil splatter I get?!)
