10 amazing adventure stories for girls 10+

I have lots of fab book lists on the blog – you can check the full list out here. Some of them, like this one are written with a particular gender in mind. This of course doesn’t mean that this book is exclusively for either gender, but feedback from children and parents has shown these books to be more popular with one gender than another.

This list has been crafted by Allison Tait. Allison is the author of the best selling The Mapmaker Chronicles series, and who has just launched the second book in her thrilling new adventure series.

The Book Of Answers (Ateban Cipher #2) – An orphan in exile. A band of rebel girls. And a prince whose throne has been stolen. Come on a journey full of danger, intrigue, adventure and incredible secrets.

‘The Ateban Cipher,’ Lucien continued, ‘is also known as the Book of Answers.’
‘Answers to what?’ Eddie asked.
Lucien sighed. ‘Everything.

In the second gripping Ateban Cipher novel, Gabe and his companions journey to a remote mountain citadel where they learn the secret of the mysterious, encrypted book that Gabe has been tasked with protecting. But their enemies are close behind them, and new dangers lie ahead.

As Eddie seeks to regain his crown, and Merry and Gwyn race to free their father, Gabe will discover the answer to his own great mystery – his true identity.

If you are quick you can head to Booktopia and snap up a signed copy of The Book of Answers for the discounted price of $11.95! Thanks Allison for this fab list, just in time for school holidays.

The Book Of Secrets by A.L. Tait

Yes, I’m going to put my own book here, despite the fact that the main protagonist is a boy (Gabe). The four rebel girls in the Ateban Cipher novels – Merry, Gwyn, Scarlett and Midge – take centre stage for much of the story. If your girls are anything like me and walked away from the Harry Potter series feeling that Hermione Granger was the true hero, then they’ll love The Book Of Secrets and its just-published sequel The Book Of Answers.
