Nicole Avery - Planning Queen

Hello there tweeter! Thanks for taking the time to find out a little bit more about me. My name is Nicole Avery and you find me on twitter as @planningqueen

I have been writing at Planning With Kids since January 2008. I am mother of five children ranging from 11 years to one year old. On the blog I share processes, plans and strategies that I have developed throughout my years of parenting which have helped make daily family life easier. Through the blog I hope to show other parents how you can streamline the repetitive tasks in family life, leaving you more time for fun the parts like playing, getting out and about or just quietly enjoying each others company.

To help new readers find their way around the blog I have created a Where To Start page. This gives you a quick guide through some of the key tips, templates and processes that we have used to help simplify and add fun to our family life.

What do I tweet about?

I like to tweet interesting/informative articles that I find on parenting, play, education and child development. I also like a chat on twitter so feel free to @ me if you are up for a chat too! I manually follow and it can sometimes take me awhile to get through the follows, so if you think I have missed you please just @reply me and I can reciprocate the follow.

What will you find at Planning With Kids?

On a weekly basis you will find a new family friendly recipe, a top 10 list and a general planning or parenting tip. If I can squeeze some more blogging time into my week, you may also find book reviews, play ideas and links to other great parenting resources around the blogosphere.

On a monthly basis, I set and review my goals, put together a list of informative posts based around a theme and I highlight a top 10 list of kids activities in Melbourne, focusing on low cost or free activities that families can enjoy. As I has three children at school you will also find school holiday activities and tips for supporting your child’s education and development.

To make the family dinner time easier and less stressful, Planning With Kids offers a free weekly menu planner. The planner allows you to choose from a collection of family friendly recipes to create your family’s menu plan for the week and then print out the shopping list that you will need for these meals. This simple tool helps sort out the “what’s for dinner” question and the supermarket shopping at the same time!

Planning With Kids will help you to put some organisation into the happy chaos that is a family with young children.
