Banana Oat Balls

Banana Oat Balls

Banana Oat Balls
These Banana Oat Balls are so super easy to make, use ingredients you are likely to have on hand and were quickly gobbled up by the kids.

The recipe makes about 18 balls, but you could easily double the mixture to make more.

Banana Oat Balls
Recipe type: Sweet treats
  • 2 cups quick oats
  • 1 large banana
  • 3 tablespoon honey
  • ¼ cup sesame seeds
  1. In a small bowl mash the banana. The riper the banana the better.
  2. Pour the sesame seeds into a small bowl and set aside.
  3. In a medium sized bowl add oats and mix in the mashed banana.
  4. Add the honey and mix well. After mixing with a spoon, I found it effective to use my hands to make sure the mixture was well combined.
  5. Using about a tablespoon of mixture. Roll into a ball and then roll into sesame seeds.
  6. Continue until all the mixture is used.
  7. Place in the fridge to set for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Keep in the fridge in an airtight container.
If the mixture is too sticky then add extra oats.

Our current lunch box set up for the primary school kids

Kids Konserve lunch box review
I am often asked what do I use for a lunch box for my kids. The photo above shows the lunch box set up we are currently using for the primary school kids. We use:

This works well for us as we can:

  • add whole pieces of fruit if needed
  • the kids can have cut up fruit and veg for brain food
  • items can be made the night before and stay fresh
  • items can be easily kept separate
  • kids know what is for lunch and what is for recess
  • they can take single items out as needed
  • it can keep food cold
  • items don’t get crushed
  • and it is waste free

biome ecostores have a huge range of lunch box and lunch box items on sale at the moment, including many of the items I have reviewed above, which is worth checking out if you need new lunch box items.
