Just a quick note to wish the lovely readers of Planning With Kids a very happy and safe new year. As of the 1st of Jan, I am taking a couple of weeks off line. Posts and associated tweets have been scheduled for this period, but I won’t be able to respond to comments or emails during this time.

I am excited about taking some time to unplug and enjoy the sunshine with the family. I hope you also have some time to relax and if like me you are in the southern hemisphere enjoy the sunshine. For those of you in the northern hemisphere, I hope it isn’t too freezing!

**********

As noted previously, I am pretty happy to be seeing the start of a new year. I know there are others who are even more keen to usher in a new year and all the hope and potential it brings. I hope that 2011 delivers for them. xxx

“Hope” is the thing with feathers by Emily Dickinson

“Hope” is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I’ve heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.

Happy New Year and thanks for reading Planning With Kids.
