Easy Pasta Bake Recipe
- 100 grams butter
- 6 tbsp plain flour
- 750 mls milk
- 500 grams beef mince
- 425 grams tinned tomatoes
- 3 tbps tomato paste
- 500 gms large pasta spirals
- 2 cloves garlic
- 750 grams pasta sauce
- 1 onion
- This recipe makes quite a large meal, so is great for when you would like to feed many mouths or have some left over for another night.
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Finely chop onion.
- Chop tomatoes in the tin, so that they are in small pieces.
- Heat oil in a large frying pan.
- Add onion and garlic and fry for 2 - 3 minutes.
- Add the meat and cook. Break it up as it is cooking.
- Add tomatoes and tomato paste and blend well, until excess liquid is evaporated.
- Stir in pasta sauce, bring to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 - 20 minutes.
- Place water on to boil and add pasta once boiling.
- Drain pasta once cooked.
- Spray the bottom of the lasagne dish lightly with olive oil.
- Spread half of the pasta on to the lasagne dish.
- Top evenly with meat sauce.
- Spread remaining pasta into the dish.
- Add the remaining meat mixture, then top with white sauce. (See instructions below.)
- Cover with foil and bake in oven for 15 minutes.
- Remove foil and cook until the top is golden.
- Chop butter roughly and place in a microwave jug and add flour.
- Cook for approx 45 seconds on high in microwave.
- Stir vigorously to make a smooth paste.
- Add milk, stir again and cook in microwave for 5 minutes.
- Stir again, getting lumps out, particularly from the bottom.
- Cook for approximately another 2 minutes.
- Keep going like this until the mixture is smooth and thick.
