Soften butter for about 20 seconds in the microwave. Add to a large bowl with sugar and vanilla.
Mix with an electric beater until light and creamy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well each time before adding next egg.
Sift combined flour and baking powder into the bowl and beat again until well combined.
Add milk to the cup cake mix and using a metal spoon, gently fold through.
Add 100s and 1000s and also fold those gently through the cup cake mix. I only used about ¾ of the sprinkles so I could add some sprinkles directly on top of half of the cup cakes.
Spoon mixture into cup cake cases.
If you wish sprinkle remaining 100s and 1000s directly on top of the cup cakes.
Place in the oven and bake for about 30 - 35 minutes.
Check with a skewer to see if they are ready and once they are remove them from the oven tray on to a cooling rack.
Once cooled, peel back the cup cake wrapper and enjoy!
