Easy Chocolate Cake Recipe

  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 125g butter, melted
  • ½ cup milk
  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. Line a 20cm round cake tin with baking paper.
  3. In a medium sized bowl, add all ingredients.
  4. Use an electric mixer and mix for about 2-3 minutes or until mixture is smooth and well combined.
  5. Pour cake mixture into tin.
  6. Bake for approximately 45 minutes.
  7. When you remove the cake from oven, let it cool in the pan for about five minutes or so.
  8. Turn the cake out on to a cooling rack.
  9. Make sure it is completely cool before you ice it. We just dusted it lightly with icing sugar.
