This post is part of my Christmas planning series. You can find the rest of the series here.
My task this week was to update the key Christmas spreadsheets I use to help me plan over the festive period. I have three key spreadsheets that I use which I have now updated for Christmas 2022. I also updated the Christmas planning spreadsheets I share here on the blog too. If you are keen to use them, you can find them here and download them for free:
- Planning With Kids Christmas Budget Template
- Planning With Kids Family Christmas Gift Ideas Shareable Spreadsheet – you can find instructions on how to use it here.

While updating my gift ideas spreadsheet I came across some things I think would be popular gifts for the health, wellness and fitness fan in your life plus I added some things that are on my wish list :).
Wellness and Fitness Christmas Gifts Ideas – Accessories
Yoga block – This yoga block is made from recycled flip-flops or thongs. The recycled thongs that Ocean Sole uses to produce these blocks are collected from the beaches, waterways, and landfills in Kenya. The blocks are hand-carved by Kenyan artisans and are all unique in colour with each block made from 21 individual thongs.
Ocean Sole is a non-profit organisation that removes trash from the oceans, waterways and coastlines. They produce products to support marine conservation, whilst creating employment opportunities in high-impact areas.
Cork Massage Roller – this roller is perfect for larger muscle groups like quads, glutes, hamstrings, calves and thoracic spine. This massage roller is more intense than the longer foam rollers due to its smaller diameter and firm material. It covers more surface area of aches and pains. The perfect roller for muscle stiffness. The roller is made from 100% natural and sustainable materials and for every roller purchased Mobeco plants one tree with One Tree Planted.
Slackers Classic 15m (50ft) Slackline – we have a slackline and they are super fun and provide a great outlet for physical activity in the backyard or park. Slacklines help improve core strength, and balance all while walking just a few feet above the ground. The Slackers Slackline comes with easy to follow instructions so you can have your slackline set up in minutes and includes teaching line to help on those first walks.
Rubber Hex Dumbbells – dumbbells are a great piece of equipment to have at home. When buying online make sure you check whether they are sold in single or double format. They come in a range of weights from 2.5kg up to 60kg.

The leggings fabric is four-way stretch and the leggings have two handy phone pockets and a high elasticated waist.

This not only reduces the amount of waste in marine environments but also saves wildlife from entanglement and injury.
Long Sleeve Hooded T-Shirt – This long sleeve hooded t-shirt is made from breathable organically grown bamboo. The bamboo fabric is super soft and sustainable.
Wellness and Fitness Christmas Gifts Ideas – Apps
Yoga with Kassandra App (Apple – Android) – I have been doing Yoga with Kassandra on Youtube for many years now and her classes are amazing. This app is perfect for the person who loves yoga but finds it hard to get to in person classes. You have the entire collection of classes from the Yoga with Kassandra YouTube library as well as some exclusive members-only classes, monthly calendars and programs.
The app allows you to find the best yoga class for you by searching by Style, Length, Level and Focus. Videos range from 5-90 minutes and include Yin, Vinyasa, Hatha, Power & Restorative Yoga. This app also gives you access to guided meditations, yoga pose tutorials and so much more. It is a paid app of either $20.49 monthly or $204.99 yearly. Apple allows you to buy apps as gifts. If you have not done this before you can find the instructions here on how you can do it. I am not familiar with how to gift on Android but this post has a great set of instructions with photos.
Fitbod Workout & Fitness Plans (Apple – Android) – This app is a great one for someone who is getting into strength training. It uses a training algorithm to guide you through an individualised program of sets, reps, and weight to help you reach your fitness goals. Amongst other options, to personalise it you can choose:
- what equipment you have available to you
- fitness goal – for example strength training, bodybuilding, general fitness, powerlifting, etc
- fitness experience – beginner, intermediate and advanced
We bought this app for one of our kids and it has been great to allow them to independently work on their strength and conditioning. The monthly plan is $19.99 or yearly for $119.99. As noted above Apple allows you to buy apps as gifts. If you have not done this before you can find the instructions here. I am not familiar with how to gift on Android but this post has a great set of instructions with photos.
- Insight courses
- Listen offline (download guided meditations to your device)
- Advanced Player (Repeat mode, Fast forward and Rewind, Pick-up where you left off)
The Insight Premium Meditation up-grade is currently $88.99 per year (higher monthly rates). Apple allows you to buy apps as gifts. If you have not done this before you can find the instructions here. I am not familiar with how to gift on Android but this post has a great set of instructions with photos.
Wellness and Fitness Christmas Gifts Ideas – Books
Next Level – Your Guide to Kicking Ass, Feeling Great, and Crushing Goals Through Menopause and Beyond – By: STACY SIMS, Selene Yeager – This book has had a huge impact on how I am approaching my fitness. I will be writing a full review of this book in the coming weeks but if you have an active family member or friend who is entering the perimenopause years then this would make a perfect gift. Next Level is a comprehensive, physiology-based guide to peak performance for active women approaching or experiencing menopause.
Four Thousand Weeks – Time and How to Use It by Oliver Burkeman – This is not your typical time management book. There are no quick hacks, no schedules to follow, and no secrets to optimising your focus. Four Thousand Weeks is about accepting that you won’t have time for all the things you want to do and understanding that even if you could you wouldn’t want to. It is about understanding that to live a meaningful life you need to embrace its finitude – we have limited time on this earth – we cannot control that but we can control what we focus on. You can read my full book review here.
Buddha Bowls: Grain + Green + Protein – 50 perfectly balanced plant-based bowls By: Hannah Pemberton – Buddha bowls are so delicous and are a great healthy meal. The recipes in this book are vegetarian or vegan, and vegan swaps are provided. They are actually pretty simple meals which can be made with inexpensive ingredients that you can easily find in your local supermarket. These recipes are designed to feed one, for easy week-night solo cooking, but can easily be doubled-up to feed a crowd.
Set Boundaries, Find Peace: A Guide to Reclaiming Yourself by Nedra Glover Tawwab – Boundary setting is a practice that requires doing the hard work to receive the benefits. As Tawwab describes, it is an ongoing effort to ensure that you are happy and well in your relationships and in life, something I think all of us want. This is a great book for someone who is working on themselves. You can read my full review here.
