It is close to only 9 weeks until Christmas – what a year we have all had! Today my post on Christmas theme ideas 2020 kicks off my Christmas planning series. Choosing a theme for Christmas is a great starting point to your Christmas planning as it can then help make some decisions easier like:
- Christmas decoration choice
- Christmas food selection
- the type of handmade Christmas gifts I will make
- the type of Christmas wrapping I will use
Next week’s post will take you over the Christmas planning basics and help you determine what work you have to do in the lead up to the big day.

Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.

Wood
A wood theme can bring a natural and environmentally friendly look to your Christmas theme in 2020.

This clever tutorial shows you how to turn driftwood into a Christmas decoration.

You can order these cute round timber place cards for your Christmas table and have them personalised with your guests’ names. They are made from 3mm ply wood. If you are keen on these I would order soon as they have lead times to be able to personalise your order.

Flora
As Christmas is during summertime in Australia a touch of floral can be such a lovely fresh touch.

These Gold Macrame Ring Wreaths are a lovely modern take on the traditional wreaths. You could use fragrant foliage like eucalyptus to make it. Find the step by step instructions here.

While not real life flora, these gorgeous green leaf fairy lights are still a great touch to add some greenery to your Christmas decorations in 2020.

I love the simplicity of these gorgeous paper bags as part of a flora based Christmas theme. Granted you may need to buy some much bigger bags for larger gifts or you could simply use kraft paper and leaves so they matched in with the theme. See full tutorial and more lovely photos here.

I can totally imagine the lovely smell that would come from this native flora table centrepiece. Head here to see step by step photos and a great two minute video on how to create this Christmas table centrepiece.
