The kids chose a very repetitive selection of meals this month. Ideally I would like more variety in the menu plans, but when I pointed out to the kids that there were a lot of the same meals, they didn’t see the issue at all! (You can see how I involve the kids in the menu planning process in this post.)
I think sometimes as parents we crave more variety than the kids. I was tempted to “tweak” some of the meals so there was more variety, but decided against it. A key reason I involve the kids in menu planning is to make meal time more enjoyable. Having healthy meals that the kids choose on the menu plan takes away so much of the complaining that can occur around dinner time. This month I am taking harmony over variety!
I use our weekly menu plans as a base most weeks to make items for the kids’ lunch boxes. Here are some ideas for sweet and savoury items to make this month.
