I love that your son affirmed his allegiance after watching the trailer to The Lego Movie. This trailer has inspired my 8 year old to produce stop motion movies with his Lego characters. Look out Animal Logic and Warner Brothers!

Our youngest recently turned 5. Great timing meant that with the help of Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Cotton On Kids we had a fabulous super hero party to celebrate the occasion.
The party was held at Little Devil’s Circus in Box Hill (Melbourne) which was such a fantastic venue. The party was for 1.5 hours and I was so amazed at how well the kids concentrated, followed the trainer’s instructions and had so much fun.
The trainer explained to the kids the activities they would do. It was set up like a circuit and the trainer worked with the kids individually on the more advanced activity. The birthday boy was allowed to kick off the fun on the balancing beam!
The trapeze was a huge hit with all the kids.
Especially the let go and jump part.
The activities were all appropriately targeted for the age group (5 years is the minimum age for kids at the Little Devil’s parties, but they do offer classes for younger kids). I loved how they had such fun at each station, while practising important gross motor skills.
I wasn’t sure if all the kids would want to give the rope swing a try, but it was great to see the kids embrace the challenge in a safe environment.
The party was broken into three parts, the first circus skills session for 30 minutes, then party food and cake time for 30 minutes, then more circus skills for the last 30 minutes.
I ran with the super hero theme for the food where possible as well. Master 5 saw the LEGO movie trailer during the holidays and since then thinks Batman is the best super hero, but also like superman a lot too!
I used my rice bubble slice recipe with colouring and some green glitter to make some kryptonite.
And all super heroes need to keep up their strength with some protein – baked gluten free meatballs.
Master 5 had the most amazing cake made by Cakes by Alana.
It was such a great group of kids, the majority of which master 5 will be going to school with this year.
The second circus skills session kicked off with balance and co-ordination activities.
The scarves entranced the kids and they were very clever with what they could do with them on a first session.
There was action with sticks.
And hula hoops.
Before it was back to some more fun on the trapeze.
Then time for a group photo before going home.
And of course the loot bags to take home!
