Pinky Mackay is appearing at this year’s Baby & Toddler Show in Melbourne (30 March to 1 April, more details at the end of the post). Pinky Mackay is a best-selling baby care author with four titles published by Penguin including Sleeping Like a baby, 100 Ways to Calm the Crying, Toddler Tactics and Parenting By Heart. Her books are endorsed by professional bodies such as The Australian Breastfeeding Association, La Leche League International and The Australian Association of Infant Mental Health.

Pinky is also an International Board certified Lactation Consultant and Parenting Coach who runs a busy private practice in Melbourne offering workshops and private consultations.

Her style is best described as “gentle parenting” which allows mothers to follow their natural instincts and respond to their babies and toddlers. She says,

“babies and toddlers are people too and they deserve empathy and respect, not ‘training’ through techniques such as rigid routines, controlled crying or spanking. This allows children to respond positively to their environment and to develop appropriate boundaries through mutual respect and strong family relationships.”

Thanks to the Baby & Toddler Show in Melbourne, Pinky Mackay will answer the most popular questions from readers of Planning With Kids!

If you had the chance to ask Pinky Mackay a question on babies, toddlers or parenting – what would it be?

Simply leave your question in the comments below, I will compile the most popular questions and send them to Pinky who will then write her answers for me to publish on the blog in a couple of weeks.
