Soccer Ball Recipe

I made these for our son’s 6th birthday party last year. They taste amazing, although I do have a strong love of white chocolate.

They are very easy to make as the ball part is really just a chocolate ball, then I dipped it in white chocolate to cover and make it look smooth. My intention had been to use an edible marker and draw lines around the balls to make them look a little more soccerish, but time got the better of me.

Soccer Ball Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet Marie biscuits
  • 1 tin condensed milk
  • 1 – 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 200 grams white chocolate
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil

Method:
1. Place Marie biscuits into a plastic bag (out of the packet) and then crush with a rolling pin.

2. Once to a consistent texture pour into a medium size bowl.

3. Add cocoa and stir.

5. Using a tablespoon of mixture, roll into balls until you have used up all the mixture.

6. Break up the chocolate and place in a heavy based microwave safe bowl. Add oil and stir a little so the chocolate is coated in oil. Melt on high for about 45 seconds. Stir. If chocolate requires further melting, do so with 15 second bursts, stirring each time.

7. Once chocolate is melted, use a stick to dip the ball into the melted chocolate.

8. Place them gently on a tray lined with baking paper and place in the fridge to set.

9. Once they are set, either serve and enjoy straight away or place in an airtight container in the fridge.

NB: There is no menu plan this week nor will there be for the next couple of weeks as I have written and scheduled these posts in advance while I have an online break. Hope you are managing some type of break too!
