lunch box ideas august

Hooray for the upcoming last month of winter! Winter is my least favourite season of the year and I am very happy we are two thirds of the way into it already.

Some more lunch box ideas for the kids school lunches, this time using seasonal fruit and veg for August.

Please note, I am not a nutritionist/dietitian. These lunch box ideas are what I actually feed our kids and taken into account with the rest of their diet and their level of physical activity, I am pretty happy with the balance they have. But like most things with parenting, there is always room for improvement so what I feed the kids for lunch is a work in progress.

Some great ideas as always. My kids lunch boxes are a little uninspired at the moment while I’m working on getting my groove back.

My girls are living on yogurt with banana or berries added at the moment.

Thanks so much for this. We use to have corn beef fritters as a kid, but these vegies ones are perfect for upping my kids vegie intake. I made some with red cabbage and lentils (the flour went a bit blue from the cabbage). I thought the kids won’t eat this. They loved them. They tasted kind of indian. (My son is intolerant to certain vegies, so cabbage and lentils are safe for him to eat or else I wouldn’t even think of feeding that to my family!!) Thanks for all your work Nicole.

Compared to 90% of lunchboxes I see at school every day these ideas are fabulously healthy. I see so many lollies, chips, cup cakes, chocolates and biscuits, generally store bought and individually wrapped. One might be ok, but a whole lunchbox full of that stuff and it makes my job a lot trickier. I can connect the dots easily from most sugary lunch box to most behaviour issues.
Thank you for providing these fresh, healthy and easy ideas.

Thanks for the great ideas! Where did you find the little stainless steel containers? They are the perfect size! Hope I can find something like that in Brisbane. THanks again.
