Funny to be publishing this post as the kids break for school holidays, but the ideas in the post would also work well as a change from sandwiches for lunches during the school holidays.
And at the end of the post I have listed some of our favourite recipes the kids and I like to cook together. Cooking is always a great activity for us when we are cooped up on rainy days. Not only does it keep the kids occupied, but they get to have something nice to eat at the end of it!

Yum, your kids lunchboxes look delicious!!!
My 3 year old loves cooking with me. I’m learning to get more and more patient as I go along! We make pizza dough, fresh pasta, cookies, cakes, ice cream, toasted muesli, wholemeal veggie muffins and anything else I can think of! He’s a bit young for anything at the stove or oven, so I try to let him do everything he can at the bench with measuring, pouring and stirring so he feels like he’s done the bulk of the work. He feels so proud of himself when he eats food he’s cooked or when he gives it away as gifts to his teachers at kinder.
Some of his lunchbox foods are linked here :

I’m going to try your chicken nuggets for the boys this week. They’ve never had a nugget before but they love anything in breadcrumbs so I’m sure they’ll love these! I love the idea of wrapping them in lettuce too. I’m going to try that for my lunch with the leftovers.xoxoxoxo
Yum. Some great ideas there. We’ve been making jam scrolls for dessert some nights and cheese & vegemite scrolls for lunch, never thought to make ham and cheese, thank you
I am in such a lunchbox rut at the moment and I only have to make them twice a week! You wouldn’t think it was that hard to come up with ideas only twice a week! I can’t wait to make some of these recipes, especially the homemade nuggets and ham and cheese scrolls.
