The official launch of the Planning With Kids book was on Friday morning. It was one of my happiest moments — it exceeded all my expectations.
I have some very important people to thank for making it such a wonderful day:
Lou – the “event stylist”, this fine lady has a talent. Lou brought together the look, organised the flowers, many other decorative elements, baked dozens of cup cakes and worked so hard to make The Cottage look beautiful.
My dear friend Cath who spoke with such energy and heart as MC, made rice paper rolls, worked the crowd and tidied as hard as she usually likes to party.
Cass – my younger sister came from Mildura for the launch and made about 1000 sandwiches, packed, unpacked, tidied and washed so very well. Also my youngest sister Steph for lending me lots of stuff and for putting up with me being a “little” vague.
The lovely Tash – made lemon slice, helped set up, served food and drinks and made everyone feel welcome.
My eldest sister Sam and my mum – for the most beautiful bunch of flowers and being there in spirit.
My charming husband Phil – way too many things to list – xxxxx
The gorgeous Belinda who made stacks of sandwiches, helped with set up and who is always such a great sounding board (even if it is on a treadmill!).
To the bloggers who came along – thank you for your support, it was fabulous to have you there – Fiona, Amanda, Sharon and Sonia.
MC who made delicious lemon slice.
Dave Lee – from Nuffnang for saying so many nice things about me and giving the non bloggers an idea of what is happening in the blogosphere. Thanks to the lovely Vanessa for coming along too.
Deb who took all the photos for me – so of course there is no photo of this lovely lady!
Kristen Hammond – from my publisher Wiley for making such a warm and honest speech that really resonated with the audience. Thanks also to Alice, Laura and Lucy from Wiley for coming along and to my editor Sandra and her lovely boys!
Laine – delivered the sushi, helped set up, served food, tidied up – never stopped helping out all day!

Katie (the mum of 8 who contributed so many fab tips in the book) Jolie and the talented Lou.
To friends and family – thanks for always supporting and encouraging me.
To the many readers who came along – it was fabulous to finally meet so many of you in real life!
To those who generously gave me tips for the book and who came along to make the celebration so much fun – Sheena, Fleur, Georgina, Julie, Marita, Danielle, Jane, Caroline, Karen, Katie, Lou, Leona, Laine, Tash, Cass, Bree, Belinda and Cath.
Thanks again to everyone who came and helped to launch the Planning With Kids book with such style and happiness. xx (You can see more photos from the launch over on flickr.)Tweet

congratulations – what a huge achievement, and what a fantastic day it looks like you had. wishing you truckloads of luck with the new book.
Thanks Jenny for the lovely comment and for being such a great supporter of the blog.
It was a great launch, Nicole, and wonderful to be there. We had to head over to the flickr stream to see if there were any photos with Miss 4 in it (because, you know, it’s all about HER! lol). So looking forward to getting started on the book, in particular the meals and finances chapters as we are starting to be a bit more organized about both those things around here and extra tips would be very helpful
Have a small plug going live tomorrow
So glad the tips are helpful Amanda. Looking fwd to catching up again soon and having more time to talk!
