Melbourne offers an amazing array of cafes that you can take your kids along to. These ones are perfect fror summer as they all have outdoor playgrounds!
1. The Farm Cafe
The child friendly features that we love came in the form of highchairs, change table and of course a great little children’s menu. After your meal the kids can then wander through the farm and check out the farm animals we all love from goats and cows to chooks and geese. All children must be supervised by an adult and you can choose to buy small bags of “hay” for 50 cents to feed the animals. Full review…
2. Elwood Beach House
This large playground is fantastic and has plenty of room to run around with all sorts of fun stuff to climb on. The kids really can go wild! If mums and dads just want to relax indoors while the kids play they can do so as the playground is easily seen from inside with its large glassed windows. Once the kids have used up all their energy mums can pop them back into the car or go for a stroll along the beach to wind down. Full review…
3. Phoenix Park Cafe
The cafe overlooks an amazing play ground filled with slides, swings, climbing ropes and just about everything else you can think of! It was built by the locals several years ago and has been a popular spot with all the new mums. Full review…
4. Three Sugars
Three Sugars was the perfect place to recharge the batteries, it was easy to find as it is right in the main street and parking was a breeze – we actually got one right out the front. The great thing l noticed straight away about Three Sugars that is it right next to the park. The bubba was very excited to get down to the slide and swings to stretch his car legs. Full review…
5. The Boathouse Cafe
After filling your tummies you can let the kids run wild on the large playground which just happens to be adjacent to the restaurant or you can take a leisurely walk alongside the river. If you’re extra keen there is a bike track to pedal your lunch calories away while bubba sits back and enjoys river views. Full review…

Set in Smythesdale the Courthouse Hotel (which may l add the only decent pub for miles) offers breakfast on the weekend and delicious lunches and dinner daily. 7. The Nursery Cafe
The facilities are fabulous, plain and simple. It has indoor/outdoor seating complete with outdoor cubby house and chalk wall for the kids to play on and a separate lounge for mums who are still breast feeding. Full review…

Along with fabulous facilities they also offer a playground for the kids to amuse themselves on while you either have lunch or doing your ‘spring’ plant buying. With a fine ‘parent’s room’ and toilets this visit will be a breeze. Full review…
