I watched this video recently and found it inspiring and it made me think about how I interact with my kids.
“Child prodigy Adora Svitak says the world needs “childish” thinking: bold ideas, wild creativity and especially optimism. Kids’ big dreams deserve high expectations, she says, starting with grownups’ willingness to learn from children as much as to teach.”
It only goes for a little over 8 minutes and is essential viewing for parents and educators. It reminded me to cherish the potential of children and how it is too easy to squash and discourage their ideas. I need to be open and listen to what they are saying and let them dream!
