Lego City Helicopter Transporter Review And Give Away
by PlanningQueen on December 4, 2009 in Children's ActivitiesThank you for your interest. The competition has now closed and winners will be announced Saturday 12th Dec 2009.
We have a massive tub of Lego at our house, so when I was asked if I would like to review the new Lego Helicopter Transporter which is part of the Lego City range, I knew my kids would be ecstatic.
As a parent I think I love Lego as much as the kids do, but probably for much different reasons than they do:
- They learn to follow step by step instructions. Children can be very impetuous and want to dive head on into things. With Lego though, they know that to build their vehicle they need to concentrate and follow the instructions as laid out.
- There are many small pieces of Lego in the kits and for my boys who are too old to do threading etc, it is a great way for them to practice fine motor control.
- It is an activity that they can work on together or solo, depending on their mood.
- It is a “quiet” activity. As mentioned in my post earlier this week, it is a great way for tired children to amuse themselves.
- Once they have built the Lego item by following the instructions, they can they use their imagination and creativity to build all sorts of wonderful things.
Thank you for your interest. The competition has now closed. Winner will be announced Saturday 12th Dec.
The kids worked together on the Helicopter Transporter Set and had construction sessions over a couple of nights after dinner. They were so excited to have it finished and when one of my 8 year old’s friends visited, he exclaimed “ahh that’s sick!” as soon as he saw it!
Well he, along with all other Australian readers will have a chance to win their very own Lego City Helicopter Transporter (RRP: $59.99). It would make a perfect Christmas present for any child aged 5 – 12.
To enter all you need to do is leave a comment telling me why you love Lego and you will be in the running. The competition is open to Australian residents only, with a limit of one entry per person. It will close Friday 11th December 2009 at 12pm AEDT. The winner will be announced on the blog on Saturday 12th December. Good Luck!

You’re never too old to enjoy Lego – it brings our family together.
Gives everyone the opportunity to use their imagination and promotes self-expression.
As a grandparent, I remember the Lego creations that were built with my children, and now my grandchildren. Creative, safe, family fun has been had for 2 generations. Lego is our first choice when choosing gifts for children of any age as you cant go wrong
The beauty of Lego is anything’s possible, the only limit is your imagination!
the simplest things are often the most enjoyable! It’s the same with Lego concept – so simple and yet so much fun!
Lego is magical ,some of the kits being unforgettable..
Lego brings out the imagination in you.
my son will answer me if i ask him a question. not like when he’s on the X box.
Lego is a great building block for life. My childen now have my Lego and enjoy hours of fun creating new things abd adventures. I even have a few old Lego Bulding books for the 70′s in the book case. Long live Lego!
LEGO HAS STOOD THE TEST OF TIME AND IS STILL THE CORNERSTONE OF BUILDING BLOCK EDUCATION FOR DEVELOPING THE MINDS OF OUR YOUNG CHILDREN, OFTEN A PLATFORM THAT LEADS TO AUSTRALIA`S PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS OF TOMORROW:
It grows imaginations and encourages little hands to make something big. Big hands like to make things with Lego too as I discovered with my husband’s old housemate who had the biggest Lego collection I had ever seen!
I grew up with lego and now I can’t wait to share it with my kids (and maybe even reminisce myself).
Lego is a great tool for hand-eye co-ordination
looking forward to getting my kids into it
Outlives all the shortlived fads and kids just love to play,
Lego’s has always amused my kids – a great toy here to stay!
Who would have thought that small plastic bricks that stick together would bond families for so many generations? Lego would have to be one of the greatest recreational/developemental inventions of all time!
LEGO = ALWAYS AWESOME
It doesn’t matter how old your children are they still love to play with lego – it’s timeless.
i love lego because it’s fun
Lego never goes out of style, it is so flexible, you can create anything you can imagine.
It keeps the kids amused over and over and over again!!!!
Lego is the only toy on the planet that will teach you the important skill of looking where you walk!! I played with it as a kid, and still do now even though i’m a big kid!
It keeps kids occupied for hours!
Lego, the ultimate toy that’s stood the test of time. for young and old it’s never outgrown.
lego!…OI!
lego!…OI!
lego! lego! lego!…OI! OI! OI!
It matters not that there are at least 9 kids in my home plus friends or that they are aged from baby to teen, Lego keeps them busy, challenged and happy more than long enough for me to grab a hot coffee!
it inspires my kids creativity and they use their free time ‘constructively’ instead of destructively!
The eternal toy, loved by little kids everywhere (and big kids too!)
Lots of
Enjoyment
Great
Objects!
Lego provides my three boys with an opportunity for quiet constructive play in this “hurried” world we live in. I must admit I am happy to chill out on the floor or kitchen table with them as an excuse to build….and might I say what a sense of accomplishment it is for the kids when they complete the Lego!
Lego is an activity enjoyed by thousands everywhere, has brought many generations together, but best of all provides hours of entertainment for children who are only limited by their imagination and the number of blocks they have.
My 3 young boys work together as a team when they construct many wonderful things out of lego. Sibling bickering ceases momentarily…it’s bliss!
Hours of fun for everyone.
I remember Leggo when i was a kid . loved it then , and my kids love Leggo now . Leggo is truly timeless and only limited by any childs imagination
Endless fun, as only the imagination can limit what can be built. The same lego i played with, my kids play with!
My son loves Lego the best,
It puts his mind to the test.
Lego could start his brilliant career,
As a builder or even an engineer.
No boundaries no limitations
has my daughter’s imagination
Lego understands that with flexibility
creations should fulfill their fantasies
From little things big things grow
imagination – children – lego
Lego are super fun, because not only can you make the design in the instructions, you can design and play with your own models, and you can change it when ever you like. You can also combine them with lego you already have. My little Brother absolutly loves his lego.
its great to see kids being creative and making new and exciting things
Lego takes kids and teaches them all the way through their childhood – from Duplo all the way through to Bionicals and advanced motorised versions. I am sure Lego is what has developed my 15 year old son’s enthusiasm for an engineering career!
Read 50 years of the Lego Brick, brought back so many memories. One of the few toys we had as children, as fun to play with today as it was back then.
Timeless….for every generation..I keep all lego from when my children were little…great investment
I love Lego and if I used it more often then I would have grown up being able to build things instead of making my brother do it
Lego brings out the imagination in all of us, from the young child to the child at heart!
It keeps my boy amused for hours!
Unlike so many toys today, lego actually stimulates creative play and is loved by our whole family.
Lego is great because of it’s bright colours, gets imaginations going and is almost unbreakable plus it keeps kids of all ages entertained for hours!
Lego creates many problems in our home. Firstly, when my children are playing with lego its so quiet, i can never find them (which is a problem when a hot dinner starts to get cold!)and secondly,-what am i going to do with all the spare time I have not having to entertain them? Ha Ha!Thank you lego. No really,— thankyou
I loved Lego as a child and as I grew up it was put aside in the shed. Now my daughter is old enough we have given my old Lego to her and she loves it. Lego is the ultimate creative toy, and better yet, it is timeless! Just as my daughter now plays with my Legos, I am sure, years from now, her children will too.
Lego 4 Me = Lifelong creativity!
I love Lego because it allows me to become an engineer WITHOUT having to attend Uni!
