Congratulations to Christie at Childhood 101 who won the best parenting blog at the Nuffnang Regional Blog Awards 2009. Other Aussie winners on the evening were Mr Gadget for best geek blog and Lady Melbourne for best fashion blog.
It wasn’t until I arrived in Singapore and started meeting and talking to other bloggers from the region that I realised just quite how big blogging is in Asia. It is a whole other world compared to how blogging is seen in Australia! Lots of the bloggers are mini celebrities with significant followings and media coverage.
Nuffnang have put in a tremendous amount of work to make this event quite special for us bloggers, so I would like to say a big thank you to the Nuffnang staff. Today we had a full day tour with other Aussie and Malaysian bloggers. We were able to see so much of Singapore in quite a short space of time!
Of course their will be lots of photos to share when I return to Melbourne, but in the meantime here is a little bit of video from the awards ceremony last night. Before the winner of each category was announced, they put together a montage of the nominees which was fun to watch. This was the one for the parenting blogs:

It’s nice to finally meet up with you … too bad that I sat way across the table that I couldn’t catch up much … I hope you enjoyed the night as much as we did!
And … I felt so bad for leaving the night to quickly pick my kids without even saying bye to the whole table! I hope you enjoyed today’s tour around Singapore too! (which I heard was quite a jam-packed day!)

Oooh… that video always makes me teary. I was almost crying on that night already missing the girls. Well, it was a great trip , and it was so awesome meeting you Nicole, your hubby and your little ( I do remember their names, just thought you may not want me to mention them )… Just in case. I SO SO thought you were going to win, nevertheless, I love your blog! …and I’m sure you’ll have plenty more awards to acknowledge your great work. Without you, I am sure that there would be plenty of parents running like headless chooks not knowing how to manage their kids. You are such a blessing to us all…
