I am so completely excited to be running this competition!!! It is such a fabulous prize – wish I could enter and head to Mt Baw Baw again.
We had such a great time at Mt Baw Baw and it is a fantastic snow experience for families.
Thanks to Destination Gippsland and Nuffnang I am offering the readers of Planning With Kids an opportunity to win a night’s accommodation at the beautiful Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort. This competition is open to Victorian (Australia) residents only.
The accommodation is on mountain and is for the newly renovated Altitude Apartment. This is a private, self contained deluxe 2 bedroom apartment, located close to Village Centre (our base for our family day at Mt Baw Baw). The Apartment is centrally heated and can sleep up to six people. It has a self contained kitchen, Austar, DVD facilities and includes bedding and towels.
As Mount Baw Baw is Melbourne’s closest Alpine Resort and only 2.5 hours from Melbourne’s CBD, you will be able to have a week end break without breaking the budget or having to drive too far. (Baw Baw has the most affordable entry price in Victoria – the cheapest lift ticket!)
How To Win
Head over to the Destination Gippsland website and check out what this region has to offer. Then post on your blog where else in Gippsland you would like to visit while you are in the area and why. Leave a link in the comments to your post or if you don’t have a blog just leave a comment saying where else you would like to visit in Gippsland and why.
The competition will be open until midday (AEST) on Friday 28th August. The winner will be shortlisted with final selection from Destination Gippsland. I will announced the winner on Monday 31st August.
Good luck, maybe this could be you and your family!!!!

What a great competition PQ – thought I would give it a go!
Posted my answer on my blog!
Good luck everyone!
What a great way to promote some wonderful places so close to home. I would love to visit Walhalla. I don’t have a blog and hope this is how to enter. I have heard so many stories about the wonderful train there and have never quite gotten around to taking the family there. Fingers crossed re. comp as I would also love the kid to experience the snow.
Great blog btw. I read it religiously.
xoxo
ickle kids – Thanks for blogging your answer. Will head over directly to check it out.
Busy Bee – Walhalla is a gorgeous place to visit and was a big hit with the kids. Good luck to you and thanks for reading the blog!
Shame it’s for Victorian’s only again – I’m hoping to head there come November when I can finally take some time off – we’re going to sample all the Vanilla Slices of country Victoria :p
Thanks for your fabulous blog, sounds like you had a ball! I thought our skiing days were over now that we have 4 little kids. But your post made me realise we can actually have a fun snow experience without the long drive and expense of the other Victorian resorts. I had a look at the Gippsland website, and didn’t realise there were so many interesting places to visit on the way. Old Gippstown historic township near Moe, the Alpaca farm and all the farmers markets look like they’d be fun for all ages. You’ve inspired me to venture out and explore an area I don’t know. Thanks and keep it up!
Thanks for the great blog and great competition!
Last winter we headed to Inverloch and stumbled upon gorgeous little town called Koonwarra (not to be confused with Coonawarra!!) It has the most delicious foodstore, a quirky but sophisticated interiors store and a couple of other shops, just enough to keep me interested without boring 2 little boys (and one big boy!) We want to come back in warmer weather and ride our bikes along the Leongatha rail trail, beautiful country!
what a setting for for a big time movie, the places look fantastic its hard to name just one,i have never seen snow, same story every-year this year we are going, but never do, if i win this with free night accomadation if this doesnt shake my husband up!!!! nothing will……….except maybe the vanilla slices.that Fiona metioned, for me i will just stare at the snow…relax..sightsee..shop…play with the kids…relax some more ,wow dont think i will want to come again. Thank you for the great competition (and for the rest of the wonderful info on your blog) – I read about a lot of great things to do on the website.
I don’t have a blog yet, but I’d love to take my family in Summer – after a few days of walking and rafting at Mt Baw Baw, we’d then go to Wilson’s Promontory – despite loving outdoor activities, we haven’t yet been to ‘the Prom’! Most exciting for me though would be the photography opportunities (I’m a bit of an amateur photog) – the scenery and wildlife look spectacular, not to mention opportunities for fun family photos…
Thanks again for all the great info you share!
