Children's Homemade Tiaras - Christmas Planning 2009

Last year was the most organised that I had ever been for a Christmas. It was also a year that I handmade the most gifts as well. This occurred primarily to crafting and planning sessions that I undertook for a couple of months from July onwards last year with my lovely friend Cath. Christmas Planning in July for 2008 went so well, that I have embarked on a Christmas in July plan again.

Photographed above is my first efforts. Cath who’s creative genius can be found at mobblegobble is my partner in craft again this year. And it is her I have to thank for these gorgeous handmade children’s tiaras. Not only did she come up with the idea, but she took me very patiently through how to make them.

During the first Monday of the school holidays Cath and her gorgeous girls came to play at my house while we crafted up a storm. I am not the cleverest crafter in the world, but Cath helped me every step of the way, so I could make these very fun tiaras. Her help didn’t stop there, as she also sewed together another dozen or so headbands for me to stitch on to, that I will now make up for our school Christmas Craft Stall.

Big love goes to dear Cath for all her help. The lovely girl will be putting up a tutorial on mobblegobble soon, on how to put them together and I will update you with a link then, so you too can have some fun making them too.

So the first handmade gifts are completed. Last year I made three different types of gifts. This year I am going to challenge myself and try and make five different types! Lets see how I go.

I have actually started the tutorial but only because my little friends got up at 5.30am yesterday. I will try to get it done on the weekend. Your tiaras look awesome – can’t wait to see how the rest turn out.
