Playdough is so much fun and children love it too. To make it a great sensory experience why not add some lavender for the nasal senses, some colour for the appearance or some sand or glitter for the hand senses.

I love playing and sculpting with my children. I much prefer the homemade playdough than store bought. With so many recipes to choose from its great to play around with.

Another little tip is adding spices to it (like mixed spice). It can create some interesting smells. Some good and some bad :)

How strange, I just posted this exact recipe today (with pics too!) I also at times add glitter, put in ziplock bags for lunch out with friends or party favours for kids birthday parties :)

Another fun thing with the glitter is to push your thumb in and pour a tsp of glitter inside. Cover up and knead. The kids have fun trying to find the glitter and it will eventually go everywhere. Same for colours. Choose blue in one part and yellow in another. Ask them what colour does it make or for them to predict what will happen. They'll think you are a magician both times.....lol

Hi there! Delurking just to say I, too, use the McKenzies Cream of Tartar playdough recipe. However, instead of cooking the dough, I use 2 cups of just boiled water. By the time you have finished stirring the dough altogether, and are ready to knead it, it has cooled down significantly. Hope this helps!
