It is such a good time of the year for fruit. It certainly makes serving up the kids morning and afternoon teas very easy.
The following fruits and vegetables listed below are at their best and cheapest this month. These lists are for Australia, but if you live in the UK you can see what’s in season at Eat the Seasons UK and for North America Eat the Seasons US.
Fruits:
banana, berries – strawberry, cherry, grapefruit, loquat, lychee, mango, melons – honeydew – rockmelon – watermelon, orange – valencia, papaya, pawpaw, pineapples – smooth – rough leaf, starfruit.
Vegetables:
artichoke, asparagus, avocado – hass, beans, choko, cucumber, lettuce, onions – salad – spring, peas – green – snow – sugar snap, spinach, sweetcorn, tomato, watercress, zucchini flowers.
Now here is family menu plan for the week:
Monday: Mexibake
Baking: Lemon Slice
Tuesday: Chicken Wings With Baked Potatoes and Corn on the Cob
Wednesday: Beef Stir Fry with Asian Greens
Thursday: Baked Penne With Bacon
Friday: Left Overs
Saturday: Tacos
Sunday: Home Made Hamburgers and Salad

We can’t get enough of the strawberries and watermelon at the moment. They have been so juicy this year! I am going to try your Mexibake this week – I’ve had the recipe printed for ages, btu haven’t got around to making it yet. I made the Baked Penne a few weeks ago too and the kids loved it! Thanks.
