It&#039;s fun to see how a 3 year old recounts the day.  We&#039;ve tried to not make eating a big deal.  They eat or they don&#039;t, but they have to stay at the table until my husband or I are finished.  We keep the plates in case they ask for food later in the evening, but they rarely come back.
I once heard that a Tablespoon per year is a good way to look at servings for toddlers.
