great advice - my eldest has done his own packing for years and I live with the consequences LOL if he has inappropriate gear. He is very grungy !

A friend of his always came to our house for sleepovers /outings with very few clothes or NONE spare in a plastic bag and 'old' stuff or wrong season.I knew his mother never packed for him.

When we took him out - I had to give him a jumper and even clothes of my son's to wear. He didn't mind.I tried to encourage my son not to be like him. Though often he too would come home in his other friends clothes on occasions.

Babyamore (Trish)'s last blog post..A Fairy Tale - A blessing

I have the kids put everything that they are packing in to piles on their beds- I look throught the piles to make sure they have everything and then they move the piles to their suitcases or bags. This also helps their bags be neater, then if they could just throw stuff in there!
ps- my sister is the crazy one, i'm the general, lol.
